Bethany’s Troll

Bethany has cultivated an intimate fantasy since puberty, but when she starts a new job as a teaching assistant, her inchoate, fantasy partner, a raging troll, starts to take on some of the characteristics the new schoolmaster. Mr Hunter is ‘old school’ in his appearance and methods, divorced, and has worked abroad for many years.

His old fashioned methods lead to schoolgirl gossip that he indulges in old fashioned practices. Bethany’s work deteriorates because of her distraction with titillating thoughts about Mr Hunter. Her distraction is noted, and the Human Resources and Welfare Committee steps in. She is given advice, but the committee also sees a way to kill two birds with one stone.
